side x side explorations in the Pryors
Mud season shenanigans with TAJ & Sprite!
Our side by side, or off-road vehicle, is named Scout. She likes to get muddy. We took her out for a mud season voyage of explorations in the Pryor mountains and she certainly wanted more entertainment than we could offer due to snow conditions, but we noted a few good trails for next time. There’s not really much else to report though so I made sure to snap lots of photos just to share with you.
The scenery was lovely if you are partial to desert settings. Lots of sagebrush and dry shrubbery, a few cacti, and dirt roads. In one area, the mud became vibrant Georgia red clay hued. I really appreciated that warm welcome. At times, we could see distant mountain ranges, such as the Bighorns or the Beartooths. Otherwise, most wouldn’t consider it jaw-dropping views even though it’s quite picturesque.
On the way back the lull of the motor and the warm afternoon sunshine did me in. However, I did wake up in time to gasp at the herd of horses standing in the road. They may or may not be a wild herd. Although it’s true there are wild horses in the area, seeing cattle nearby made it difficult to determine whether this specific herd is wild or owned. Enjoy the video below of them running away from us as we disturbed their conference.
